Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in our American owned family motel. The Perkins Family journey in the motel business began in sunny Myrtle Beach in 1972. We opened the Hurl Rock Motel with one thing in mind--  FAMILY AFFORDABLE  beach vacation fun! Year after year our loyal guests returned to see us and enjoyed competitive rates, clean rooms, and great family fun. Eventually we saw the tradition passed on to the new generation and our guests become family. We take great pride in these memories.

After more than 25 years in the motel business we decided it was time to retire and had a great base of repeat customer business to turn over to the new owners. Since then, the motel has had two owners and the name changed as did the quality of the product we worked so hard to create. After seeing and hearing how dramatically things had changed at our once clean, affordable, fun motel we decided retirement wasn’t an option any longer.  On March 16, 2010 we assumed management of the motel and got to work putting it back to our former high standards. 

So, the Perkins Family is back! The Hurl Rock is re-opening under our family management and we are here to tell our past customers the clean, affordable rooms they remember will once again be available in South Myrtle Beach at the all new Hurl Rock Motel. We do not take what transpired in our absence lightly and our mission is to revive the Hurl Rock to the standard it once held and gain back the trust of our family vacationers who deserve the very best that our motel has to offer.
